Living in the moment and enjoying life as it is, Cayde has a devil-may-care attitude and lets very few things affect him enough to make him upset. Cheerful, upbeat, bright, and determined to follow his dreams, he perseveres through hardships with a steadfast resolve. Kind to almost everyone, he’s not afraid of making friends, however while he may be intelligent and skilled, his naivety can make him seem a bit… dumb, if not dense, at many points. In the end, his mind is up with his dreams; In the clouds.
The eldest child of a frontier couple, Cayde grew up outside of the major population centers in a calm plains section of Avalon's Periphery. His father, having once been a teacher and a scholar, helped teach him while growing up, giving him a wealth of literature to devour as he grew. While his tastes and personality may have changed during his youth, one thing never left him; His dream of flying in his own flying machine. To that end, with the help of his father and a few trips to The Scrapyard, Cayde learned the ins and outs of Engineering. At the age of 17, a year after his parents divorce, he made his first flying machine, a light biplane that flew for five minutes before the engine quit, and ten minutes just gliding. After that moment, he was hooked, and knew his dream could be a reality.
