"I knew that's all you saw me as. Just a piece of meat." Luke rolled his eyes, feigning genuine offense. He really didn't care though. He could tell she was just messing with him this time around. Well, ok, it wasn't hard to tell that she was, to be honest. With that... er... "cutesy" voice she was making, it was pretty... pretty easy to tell that she was just taking the piss. Luke cleared his throat and tried to make his voice sound deeper. "Don't worry little lady, this big, strong, powerful man is here to protect you. No one will ever lay a single finger on you."
The techy tied the whole thing together by flexing. Admittedly, he might have committed too hard to the joke, but it's not like Luna would give a damn either way. The guy knew that there was no real way she was attracted to him, so it's not like doing this or that would sway the needle any which way. Especially if it was for a joke.
Besides, muscles didn't mean anything.
Actually, he really didn't even know what type of guy Luna was into. The girl always dodged the question in the past whenever he asked her. Did she even have a type? Or was there just some underlying reason as to why she was keeping it hidden.
"And, hey, well, now you have a reason to be here." Luke would reply. Sure, the Lost Boys may not be in this city, but that didn't make it bad. "And... yeah, the gods do apparently come around here a lot. It is the capital after all, but as long as you don't really... do much, you don't have to really worry about it. Like, I don't exactly have many run-ins with them, but if you really try for it then you'll probably have that sort of misfortune."
The cart would soon enter the city, passing slowly by the different shops and sights. Given Luke lived in Hurricane Keep, they really didn't see much of the other sections. It was definitely a lot more peaceful than back in The City. The air was far cleaner, and the crowds were a lot smaller. It felt like a completely different world than the one they grew up in. It really served to showcase how much of an absolute shit show Blackmarsh City was.
But that wasn't surprising.
Luke would point out a few spots he had been recommended, and others that he actually frequented. They were mostly just book stores, clothing shops, food stops, and trinket vendors. But there were also some interesting stops as well, such as a weapon store, a magic items merchant, and a few other miscellaneous shops that he'd been recommended.
The boy hopped out once the cart stopped, offering his hand to Luna. For a moment, there was a brief flicker of confusion, and slight embarrassment over the act. It had seemed so natural at first, but now that his mind had a moment to process it, it just kinda... felt odd. Whatever, there was no turning back now. He was going to be made fun of regardless.
"Well... welcome to Hurricane Keep, Luna."
