Mysterious Singing

[Ari]

Waves crashed upon the shore, soaking the still warm sand. The sun was beginning to set, the purple-orange sky reflecting across the ocean's surface, creating a beautiful scene. 

This was one of the beaches in Deep Sea Sanctuary, known for being a popular spot due to it's beautiful scenery and crystal clear water, making it a perfect setting for festivities and the like. 
However, there's one thing that's off about this beach in particular. For the past week, people who happen to walk by claim to hear singing. Not catchy, upbeat singing, this was more of a beautiful yet haunting kind of melody. Those who happen to hear the melody say that they felt calm, yet compelled to follow the sound, almost as if they were in a trance of some sort. Despite this, no one has come close to finding who the mysterious singer is.
Which makes today no different from those past couple of days...

Just as the sun set, the stars and moon began to come out more clearly, that same haunting tune began to spread through the open area...

Little do those who happen to hear the mysterious melody know, the main culprit wasn't some sort of cryptid. Well in a way she kinda was, if you take into account her bloodline. But if you were to look at her at first glance you'd just see a regular teenage girl. Sure it's a bit suspicious to see a young woman at this time of night all by herself, but that's besides the point. Despite all that, yes she's the one who's doing the nightly singing.
When taking into account her parentage, could you really blame her for her nightly jaunt? She can't help it if the sea calls out to her, and she can't help if the beach is the perfect spot for a little melody. This beach was perfect for a few spots that were secluded away from the main area, along with a little lagoon that was the right temperature for her to dip into.

She's just trying to enjoy herself, you can't sue her for that!

Luna who would be sitting on the sand just taking sometime to be in nature and to watch the sunset and then stare at the stars and moon just enjoying the beauty of nature would hear this singing and decided to look around to see if she could find who was behind the singing it wasn't annoying she just was curious.

If Luna decided to go and investigate where the sound was coming from, following the singing would lead her to an isolated part of the beach with a small lagoon. There she'll see a young woman of about 17 sitting by the lagoon, the haunting, yet beautiful melody coming from her. Fair warning though, if surprised, Rhapsody will most likely retaliate or flee, so Luna should be cautious in how she approaches the young lass.

Luna would keep a safe distance from the lady not far enough she would need to shout "hello miss may i come closer i only wish to talk" the 18 year old wood elf would say while keeping her distance using her hand to brush some strands of her auburn hair out of her face that had fallen into her eyes while she was walking.

She made a little 'eep!' sound when Luna called out to her. She wasn't expecting for someone to find her little hiding spot! She almost fell off the rock she was perched because she was so startled, but kept her composure. After all, the speaker sounded so polite, it's only fair that Rhapsody replies to her. "Uh, I suppose that you can approach, but if you do anything suspicious you'll be sorry!" She's not scared, Rhapsody may not condone needless violence but she can defend herself if need be.

"Sorry if i startled you" Luna would say walking bit closer "it wasn't my intent though i do have to ask was that you who was singing before? " she would say sitting down "oh but where are my manners I'm Luna"

Watching the newcomer with a hint of caution, relaxing a little on her rock perch, but still alert, she answered her, "It's fine, nobody's harmed so there's no need to apologize." She dipped her feet into the water, tilting her head to the side at the question of the singing. "Uh yeah! I was the one singing...this beach is kinda one of the few places where nobody really searches for any stragglers.." She fiddled with her fingers, kinda embarrassed at being caught. Looking at the other woman when she introduced herself, she gave a shy smile, "I'm Rhapsody Carmine, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

"it's nice to meet you too and honestly that's fair sometimes it's nice to find somewhere quiet and just enjoy a hobby" she would smile herself . "sometimes i like to find a quiet place to write or draw in my journal sometimes about places I've been or just things i find interesting"

Rhapsody grinned a bit at the comment, finding it easy to relate to it. She can't help wanting to be near the ocean, and she certainly can't help singing near the salty body of water. Siren instincts, gotta love them! 
"Right? A quiet place just for yourself, where you can unwind and let your worries melt away! The ocean is where I feel most at ease." Which makes her highly defensive of her little secret area, she doesn't want anyone to ruin her spot. "Oh, sorry I tend to ramble a bit! So what about you, you say you draw and write about places you've visited? You must have been on loads of adventures then."

"that's good to hear and don't worry about it that happens " she would say " yeah I've been on a few adventures not as many as you'd think I'm still fairly new to it " she'd say with a smile as without a second thought she clutched her opal necklace a reminder of her family and the day she left home to go on her first adventure.

She 'oohed' at the reply, Rhapsody gets impressed easily, but she thought that it was cool that the other at least got to explore. "That's so cool~! Even if it isn't a lot, you've still managed to get to experience loads of new things!" Her eyes were filled with awe and curiosity. She was curious as to where exactly Luna's been, like what was it like or what did she see? "What places have you been exactly? And did you see any cool stuff? Ooh, ooh! Were they dangerous adventures?" She didn't seem to realize that she was bombarding the other with various questions, but she was just so curious! She's never been anywhere that wasn't either authorized by Vyridel Academy or the ocean, so she doesn't know much about any other locations.

"I've been through a couple of of small towns and I'd say the biggest danger I've faced was getting lost " she pause for a moment to think " but i have seen a ton of cool stuff on my adventures " Luna would reply

She hummed at the reply, not as exciting as she thought but she still thought it was cool she got to explore. "Well they may not have been dangerous or grand adventures, but at least you can say that you've gotten to explore many cultures and environments. That's more than what most people get to do." She stared out at the horizon, the stars still twinkling in the expansive night sky, the ocean reflecting it's beauty. "Maybe I could get the chance to see more of Tir, see all the different environments and get to meet new people, it all sounds so exciting!"

" Yeah exactly and you should if you get the chance i plan to honestly even the smallest adventure leads into something new you learn and it's great to make new friends " Luna would say before staring at the stars " plus you tend to find it gives you a chance to enjoy the world around you and it's beauty and diversity"
