Nocturne closed the book with a single handed snap. She looked over at them. They were too fresh to be recognizable by the bounty giver, that was her thought. The book was banished to the shadows, she'd pluck it back out to add to her own personal library. She stepped back in the tent of the bandit lead, and sifted around some more. The paleness of the skin on their faces told her enough the stench was not something they were accustomed to. She hoped that whatever they did, that it wouldn't be the case. A more modest lifestyle fit them. She on the otherhand, was far from unphased. But that also happened to be for a number of reasons. When she finished rummaging through the man's person, plucking something out from beneath his plating, she proceeded to continue to loot any other container in the tent.
If the man treated his underlings this poorly, this meant he kept any treasures to himself. After she cleared the tent, she came back out with the sound of a soft jingling. She stopped in front of the two boys, holding something in both of her taloned hands. Two small burlap bags that seemed to be filled. She was practically spoiling them at this point. [smear:#ac75ff]"These are the treasures he hoarded from whatever skirmishes he created and kept from you. He won't be needing these anymore."[/smear:#423159:1] Nocturne held the bags until the boys were able to take them. They could use the money to buy anything within the budget. She waited a few more minutes so they could regain colour on their faces before starting to walk of to a road that lead towards Avalon. For the boys, it would be a long walk, but luckily for them, Nocturne was patient.
If they needed breaks, she would stop and wait for them to regain strength to move. She distributed scavenged rations to them during these breaks but didn't seem to take any for herself. Though, Nocturne really wasn't hungry at the moment. As they neared the first village, Nocturne's hood was back on to conceal her identity. After the skirmish at the camp, it was understandable why when she revealed herself, though there was a suspicion based on the aura of her magic alone who she was. Not seeing a face helped can it a little.
They finally neared the village closest to the outskirts of Avalon, its features of seasonal aesthetics poking from behind marble white walls. A mountain peak with green crystal practically glowed when the sun couldn't outshine it. A golden temple lit with flames adjacent to it. Opposite was a white marble temple so bright, it almost shared the same tones as a blanket of snow. And the last temple appeared to be made with a layer of rusted bronze that was accented with gold and a few floating steps around it that climbed up into the sky. These magnificent buildings were all obviously residences of gods as well.
While the boys were either gawking that they were this close to the capitol city-state, or off shopping for some kind of snack or something, they'd see Nocturne waiting next to a carriage. [smear:#ac75ff]"The driver here will be waiting for you until you are ready to go."[/smear:#423159:1], she said to them, once they were regrouped. Before they could even thank her, she held up a hand. [smear:#ac75ff]"Do not thank me for this. As far as anyone is concerned, you brought the Titan Clan head yourselves."[/smear:#423159:1]
She slipped past them, sliding back down into the shadows to take her leave and travel home. Sanguis likely felt the fresh spill of blood. But really all Nocturne wanted right now was to clean her weapons, take a bath and have some fresh, hot tea.
