The storm was in full swing as mid day hit, and by that time it was impossible to tell exactly what time it was, with the black clouds and torrents of rain blocking any chances of the sun peaking through the darkness. Thunder resounded through the forest, a flash of white giving light to the brush and trees. Past the forest, a large amount of highlands and rocks were present, the rain hitting them full force.
In that torrent stood a man. He was of an average height, though his build was hidden in the constant downpour. He wore a hooded jacket, tattered on the bottom. He rushed through the forest, keeping himself quiet as best he could. Yellow eyes scanning and watching in front of him. His movements were quick, his steps almost silent compared to the sound of water berating the ground. On his back, there was a sword, an elegant design of steel and black cloth.
He moved behind a large oak, his yellow eyes squinting as he watched what was in front of him. It was some kind of pass through the rocks, though he couldn't gauge exactly how far it went or how deep it was. Inside, though, he eyed a flicker of orange and red, glowing out of the entrance. A fire of some kind. He would press in, but would stop as he saw two men outside the passing., weapons in hand as they watched for intruders.
He'd have to think this through.
Well, he thought to himself, It can't be that bad, right? The visibility was low, that was something he could use to his advantage. It was also raining, so he could luckily use that to keep himself unable to hear. The real challenge would be what he could do when he entered. The flame was maybe fifty, one hundred feet inside the passing, but he didn't know whether it was narrow the entire way through or if it expanded and widened as you went deeper.
The man's name was Flux. Well, that's what he liked being called. At the moment, he was looking for someone. Avalon put out a warning about them. A dangerous person who killed and looted and robbed countless people traversing through the areas between towns. They put a hit out on him, for him to be brought in.
Dead or alive.
He'd give a huff, moving behind the tree once more while he did his best to figure out what to do about this. Once he had handled the two outside, he'd have to find out how to get in there and find information without getting himself found out. Figure out whether his target was actually in there. Luckily he had the storm on his side.
Hoo boy, he thought, let's get this going...

Eventually, Flux would run into what looked like a small hunting shack that was was kept. It all seemed quiet while the storm raged on. In it a woman was meditating on an animal hide bed roll. She was practicing her magic, something vital for all mages if they were to be at the best of their ability. She was an earth mage who was named the Cruor Crystal, her real name lost to all but herself - Aelo. All around her was a ring of crystals in varying colours, each with a distinctive glow that marked a different element charged within. She kept her senses in tune, drowning out the rain and the thunder, eyes sewn shut as an aftermath of losing her eyes. Eyes weren't ideal for her in the long run. In fact, the woman felt more in tune with her element if she couldn't see. Within a large range, she could feel all kinds of movement. Rain hitting the ground was mere noise. Lightning was felt with a heightened sense of electromagnetism. She was aware of a bounty on her head. She couldn't trust followers and was her own forces. "Oh?" Her interest was piqued as she felt a movement on the ground. The pattern wasn't direct, this wasn't any regular passerby. No, this person was on a search. Paranoia gave her the sense he was seeking her out. The crystals around her lifted and floated around. Each gave a feel that told her enough of their properties. She might as well prepare, protect herself and her turf. Aelo reached around, grabbing a pair of gauntlets that were decorated in crystal, the surface jagged for extra shredding. A soft tap against each other and the crystals forcibly grew more into a series of large spikes pointing outwards to her fingertips. The other crystals inserted into sockets around the gauntlets, charging them with multiple elemental capabilities. I may have many sins on my back, but I refuse to have my life ended by some other heroic upstart. She stepped around cautiously, ensuring herself of a route that hid her from Flux's view and sunk into the ground, lying in wait. Flux found himself watching the area around him, the rain deafening his steps but also making the footsteps of others harder to hear. He would eye the shack, but wouldn't hear any underlying movement coming from it. This wasn't good, honestly. He was going to find himself in a trap, ambush, or some kind of combination of the two. He'd put his hand on to his sword, taking a deep breath.
His eyes would then be filled with a deeper sight, his eyes having a gold glint as he took a glance at everything around him. His eyes could see through the rain, through the mist that rose through the ground. He would take a second to give a glance around, before he found his target-
The Cruor Crystal.
Oh man I wish I knew what I was getting into before I sign up for this shit, he thought to himself. Cruor was an incredibly powerful earth mage, and was a force to be reckoned with. Even with the storm, he doubts he would be able to even sneak up on her, much less get a hit out of nowhere. He'd have to find a way around this. Wait, isn't she blind or something? That would mean that she had some other sense to find out that he was there. Which explains why she's leaving the shack.
He'd speak, his voice low, though he had no doubts that she could hear him, "I can see you, Cruor." There wasn't many ways he could go around this. He could be airborne, but that would only work for a short amount of time. He would have to plan this to the most finite details. Stealth doesn't matter at this point, he knows that much.
He'd slowly pull out his Tempest, readying it with his right hand.
He used an affinity 5 extrasensory

The boy bluffs., she told herself. She never covered her tracks, but everything else should have hidden her well enough, especially with the rainfall quickly flooding her footprints. But even then, her footprints weren't right where she was. That was a fool's mistake. She took a deep breath in, inhaling the scent of wet soil. When she exhaled, she was ready to strike. Crystalline spikes flew out of ground, altering the landscape with an array of colourful crystals. The mage stayed in the earth a bit longer, her entire body encased in crystal and mana seeping out into the crystals around her. The spines would begin to glow brighter and brighter as she released more and more mana. Her plan was to make things volatile, deal as much damage in one large burst as she could. If it hit Flux, Aelo was sure that he’d be eating more than a healthy helping of damage. Even so, he could try to negate some of the damage and avoid getting hurt too much. There was no point wasting breath in talking, most hunters meant business and she would take them seriously unless they were complete and total pushovers. Facet Armour at 9

Flux didn't approach, waiting for some kind of reaction from Cruor. He didn't think she would do anything too risky. She was smart, that much was certain. But she also was on the run. He couldn't try to figure out her thoughts until she eventually made some kind of action. Maybe she would attack. Maybe she would run. He'd walk over to the prints slowly, keeping himself close to a tree.
Oh boy she was attacking.
Crystals came flying out from the left, glowing and charged with magic. He eyed the crystals, attempting to figure out where to go to avoid it. He couldn't tell if they were extremely volatile or if it was only normally charged. He couldn't give a guess, and he definitely wasn't going to take a chance with it.
His body would be surrounded with the cackle and sound of lightning, his body lighting up as electricity arced over him. After a moment, the lightning would be used to launch him upwards, into the tree that he was standing near. Grabbing a branch, he'd pull himself up on to the branch to hopefully avoid the crystals.
But, oh, was he terribly mistaken.
The crystals were supercharged, and would blow, their elements sparking off in every direction as a result. These explosions were powerful, he could see that much. Though, the thing he noted before anything would be what it blew up; the fucking tree he was perched on. As the tree started to tip, he'd do his best to jump off, and though the landing wasn't impeccable, it did at least let him recover and get back to a standing position.
"Crour!" He'd say, quickly preparing for another kind of advancement. With a flash of lightning, he got a single glimpse of her, though it seemed she was covered in some kind of armor. "Look, I don't want to hurt you. Just come along quietly." He was being genuine with this, though he doubted it'd work. She was on the run for her crimes, it's not like she was going to stop running when it's just a little old lightning mage in her way.
Fuck.

Ahhhh, so he is another heroic wannabe. The thought was annoying. No name mages trying to fight someone they likely couldn't handle. Seemed like Flux was another who was biting off more than he could chew. Another channeling of magic and two crystalline golems formed near Aelo. All at once did the three bodies break out of the ground, rain washing off dirt and mud from their sparkling bodies. They all almost looked identical until one raised their arm to point in Flux's direction and the other two started to charge at him. With Flux's reactions, he would notice two differently coloured crystals fly into the backs of the golems, altering their bodies to match and snaking even more mana into their forms to make them elementally dangerous. Aelo charged after, the crystals lining her gauntlets spreading up her armour into spikes in a vibrant cyan. Electricity began to spark as she was charging her arms, leaping at Flux with the intent to either impale or pummel him with a taloned fist to the gut while her golems were trying to corral him in a striking spot. 2 golems made Gauntlets charged with electricity One golem charged with ice one golem charged with fire
Spell name: Golem Construct Spell Main Element: Arcane -Spell Sub Elements: [Varied] Affinity Strength: 5 (at base) Function: The user can cast magic on a series of objects or elemental resource to create a golem. Flux would see the giant golems, giving a groan. Sure, he was trying to be nice and civil, but he could've easily guessed that she was not listening. Which blows. Damn, he thought, Well, I tried. His grip would tighten on Tempest, his eyes facing the three charging him. She was in the middle of the group, so he'd just have to figure out a way to take her down.
Guess he has to go all into this.
He'd move quickly, his body moving with magic as his steps were now completely silent. He didn't know if this would effectively work, but that was the tactic. The golems would move to her command, so if she couldn't hear him he could move to stopping her. Her 'vision' might not be based on sound, though, which could be troubling. He'd have to change up his game plan. When the spell went into effect, he darted left, his plan going into action.
Light would arc across his fingers as a large ball of yellow lightning moved and shot between his finger tips. He'd use the opportunity to give a leap, the lightning formed into a tight ball as he fired it directly at the left golem. He didn't know how effective it would be, but, as said before, he had the storm on his side.
Though it was on her side, too. Shit.

While his muffling was effective with any splashing he would have made but it didn't mean anything for Aelo. Aelo could still feel his movements in the earth and was positioning herself to attack him again. The fire crystal golem took the hit, but it wasn't enough to shatter it, only leave a large crack where the attack landed. Aelo made sure to have the electric crystal golem chase after him while the other went off in another direction. It was as soon as Flux leapt off the ground that Aelo had to guess where he went. She figured a direction and had positioned the golems roughly at other points around Flux. She staggered back from Flux’s blow, breaking her armour at her shoulder, only keeping intact as long as the broken chunks stayed at an upper angle. Aelo crouched down along with the other two golems, placing her hands on the ground and channeling magic to force more geodes from bursting out of the ground, the chunk falling and shooting off elsewhere from the newly formed crystals. Almost like before, the crystals glowed more and more to a dangerously bright level. This might be going overboard against a ‘hero’, but overkill was better than no kill. She ignored the exposed area of her shoulder, knowing full well that she was at point blank with her own attack this time. It was almost like watching fireworks up close and personal. Except that these fireworks were also elementally charged and even more dangerous. Lightning struck, attracted by extra lightning magic in the crystals and setting them all off in a large explosion that left nothing more than a crater. If only Aelo could see the blinding colours before her to distract herself from her own Geode Rupture + Lodestone Effect cast 15 crystals made >5 electricity >7 explosive >3 ice
Lightning and Fire Golems detonated
Total damage if taken head on: 148 Damage reduced by half if blocking or negating

Flux would watch the golems as he leaped, noting how they didn't go straight for him, but more giving a guesstimate. While the guess was close, it wasn't close enough to block him in. He'd back up, watching the golems and Cruor. He got a hit on her, at least. But it really isn't going to be that easy, now is it.
Of course not, he thought.
The golems would begin glowing as Cruor set yet another blast of crystals out. But, this time, there were even more than before, all glowing the same as before. Shit... he thought, thinking to a possible solution. He knew that she couldn't see him when he was airborne, but that wouldn't matter at this moment. She was going to attempt to hit everything and anything, including herself. This wasn't looking good at all, honestly.
He had an idea, though at this point it was a terrible one. Whether it worked or not, he'd avoid the blast, but overall he'd have to time it right. Because if it was a success, he'd be able to strike, and if not, he's going to faceplant into the ground at immensely fast speeds. Which will suck.
He'd start running, moving towards a tree and letting his body arc with electricity once again, launching himself against the tree, as high as humanely possible. He connected at semi-high speeds, giving a grunt as he ignored it momentarily, letting his body arc once more as he shot himself even higher, angling himself backwards. Back towards Cruor.
Then the blast went off.
An array of colors went through Flux's vision, as wind berated against his skin. She shouldn't have her armor anymore, or so he hoped. He was maybe twenty, thirty feet in the air, and crashing fast. As the colors faded, he let his body arc once more, launching himself directly at Cruor, his sword stabbing at her.
If this worked, he'd stab either her or her armor, his momentum knocking her down and providing himself with more of a body cushion, which would also hurt her. If it didn't, he'd hit the ground hard, hearing a crack as he rolled and did his best to recover, adrenaline keeping his body from feeling the pain.

Aelo knew she was going to be taking a large chunk of damage herself. She felt a weight flying off, her armour completely shattered and no longer covering her body. All Aelo could do was hope her attack got that annoyance of a fly and that she could go elsewhere and recuperate. Well, so much for wishing. Immediately she felt him vanish again. The attack should have hit him, but it didn’t seem like it would have killed him. Instead, Aelo took the bulk of the damage from her own turn, allowing for his attack to put her into a fatal state where she would be better off killed instead of brutally injured to the point where death was a better option. Aelo was shot back, hitting a tree stump and slumped over. She was barely conscious now and she was at Flux’s mercy. But even then, Aelo kept quiet, not even begging for life or death. She knew she was defeated and it was her fault for pulling something so reckless. Flux takes 15 points of damage from the backend of the explosions, which is totally moot because he'll recover it after this topic is over
