Personality:
Luna is a mischievous soul that also has a big heart for animals and members of a group that calls themselves the 'Lost Boys'. Despite the hell she's been through, she copes by trying to see the beauty in the world outside of their home city and caring for strays. She keeps a heavy respect for the god of her element, even if she hasn't personally met the god herself.
Biography:
The daughter of a lower class dark-mage family, she lost her parents at a relatively young age due to heart failure from overdosing on the drug Moonsight. Ever since then, she’s steered clear of most substances such as that as much as possible. Her older brother took care of her from that point forwards, teaching her the basics of how to survive in the city. However, he took up a few habits from their late parents, and had a tendency to lose himself in the high. While he wasn’t a terrible brother by any stretch, and certainly cared for his little sister the best he could, she couldn’t stand to see him following the same path as their mother and father. At the age of ten, she ran from home, using the skills her brother taught to her to survive.
It wasn’t long before the wandering girl attracted unwanted attention in the slums. With her beautiful white hair and vibrant eyes, many of the filth of the earth sought to prey on her for their own disgusting means. Before any harm could come to her, thankfully, a guardian angel swooped in to take her under his wing. A man known as Io. This young man took to wandering the city, looking for lost children, ones who lived as orphans, or couldn’t live in their own home, and brought them to his hideout to give them a proper home, a proper family, in hopes of giving them a good life.
Situated in an old warehouse, Luna became one of the younger members of his group, learning how to properly read and write under the older gang members, and getting the best “proper education” they could give. It was thanks to their effort and many hours of reading that she became as intelligent as she is. It was in this group that she began to learn how to be truly happy, and she grew to idolize Io like the rest.
When she was fourteen, a thirteen year old, black haired punk entered the group, with cold gray eyes and a vicious attitude. Many avoided him, labeling him a rabid dog, a mutt, but Io saw potential in the boy, so Luna did too. Despite how cold the young man was to her in the beginning, she continued to hang around him. Bit by bit, she saw him warm up to everyone, and when he finally talked, she welcomed him with open arms. Together the two would share many stories and many jokes. Through Luna and Io, the young boy, known as Luke, learned how to make new friends, and soon grow into a proper member of the gang.
When they were older, she would always hang around with him and listen to the exploits from raids or other outings he and other members of the gang, now known as “The Lost Boys,” had enacted. They laughed and teased one another almost religiously, and always found ways to pull pranks on one another. While not exactly a fighter herself, Luna also joined in on Luke’s love of boxing and martial arts… at least enough to learn how to suplex, drop kick, and power bomb Luke. It wasn’t long until Luna realized that she had romantic feelings for Luke.
Admittedly, this realization made her easier to fluster, though the reason why was (thankfully) almost always lost on Luke. Still, she never gave up on her shenanigans, although unfortunately, during one incident in which Luke was dropkicked by Luna, the young man also saw her underwear that day- black kitten faced panties. He never let her live it down.
Luna never asked Luke out, for fear of ruining their friendship and whatever they had, but this would come back to bite her the day someone made the move before her… and Luke accepted. Luna continued to be supportive of her friend, but it pained her inside to see him with someone else. When Io died and Luke came back with a mangled arm, she was just as distraught as the rest of the group, if not more due to how injured Luke had been. However, that distress quickly became replaced by a hidden anger as she saw how his lover acted in secret, apathetic towards Io’s loss and Luke’s emotions. Still, not wanting to ruin Luke’s relationship out of fear of looking petty and jealous, she let it be… until she realized she shouldn’t have.
The day of Luke’s betrayal at the hands of his unfaithful girlfriend, the gang didn’t just lose the two perpetrators from their ranks… they also lost Luke himself. The young man, done with the filth and scum of the city, left the it… and Luna. The young woman regretted her idleness, wishing she could have at least told him how she felt towards him. She took out her stress by beating his ex to a pulp.
In the passing years, Luna improved her art, painting or drawing different doodles, while allowing herself to simply rot in the city. However, after the engagement and subsequent marriage of her friend Zach to the love of his life, she felt a spark in her heart that pushed her out of the slump, and inspired her to finally escape the binds of the city. During her travels she honed her magic as well, and learned some minor self defense skills. Despite her cheerful smile, however, her eyes tell a somber story, as though searching for something they cannot find.
