-Base Enchantment-
These weapons are the most common magic weapon to appear in Tir. Easily accessible by reward, looting, or trade, some may have a special name to it and a slightly stronger enchantment given under certain circumstances. Base enchantment weapons include those with singular elemental charges or even something to help strengthen the user. None are bound by contract, but some may hold a larger meaning than others.
-Abnormal Base-
Slightly harder to find, weapons with abnormal base enchantments are often some with dual base stats applied with smaller buffs than a base enchanted weapon (on the individual level). Though there are some that retain a singular enchantment, it's often a specific thing that sets it at a higher bar than a base enchanted weapon. Abnormal base weapons are often more refined and carry a title compared to weapons with a base enchantment.
-Chaotic-
Chaotic weapons are strange pieces. Seen as a literal double edged sword, chaotic weapons have wildcard traits that may or may not be useful for the wielder in question. They often carry random stats and even more random side-effects. These weapons can appear normal or stand out as something rather unconventional or maybe even a weapon that may not be used as much. Needless to say, chaotic weapons definitely make a skirmish more interesting for better or worse.
-Cursed-
Cursed weapons bring much promise to their user, but at a price. A weapon that forges a contract to the next person to come into contact with it, regardless if the user was willing or not, it grants them a great power in exchange for something the user has to offer. The more the weapon is used, the more the weapon takes from the user until the user dies or breaks the contract. The weapon may speak with its owner, whispering thoughts and ideas to convince them into doing something, their voice gaining power the more they are used. Those who break the contract suffer a massive debuff and suffer the side-effects that accompany it. Those who no longer have what the weapon seeks and survives become a husk susceptible to the weapon controlling them. However, when the weapon senses their husk near death, they break the contract and enter a hibernation state until the next wielder comes into contact with them.
-Blessed-
Blessed weapons are said to be personally enchanted by a god or a mage within their inner council. These weapons hold a heavy elemental connection to the representative god and are generously adorned with elemental lodestones to further buff its enchantments. The lodestones drain mana passively outside of battle to recharge, often cutting the drain when drawn out. When the weapons are wielded by a user of the same element, they experience an elemental buff with their spells and can access the spells stored within the weapon itself. The spells are finite, but capable of recharge with a cost of mana outside of battle. If the weapon experiences weather that would typically buff its representational element, the amount of mana drain is much slower and it will also experience a buff with its spells and effects. In ceremonial practice, the weapon may be used as a form of communication with the god in question or any primals and minor gods connected to the element.
-Living-
Living weapons are strange in that they may not even appear as weapons. Similarly to cursed weapons, they forge a contract with the user who comes into contact with them and can speak to them in the user's mind. However, they do not seek an eye for an eye like a cursed weapon does. Living weapons may seek something if the user is willing to give what the weapon wants or can obtain an item with a similar result in order to buff themselves, to which contents after are dispelled when it is no longer useful. Living weapons that are in a more traditional form of 'weapon' may only seek the bare minimum of being in a condition, if possible, that would further their effects on opponents. Regardless, these weapons carry special enchantments and powerful spells. The forms of these weapons may vary, as those more connected to the form of a traditional weapon may be adorned with gem-like accents or a literal eyeball whereas less conventional pieces lack these forms and take on aesthetics of something else they're connected with.
-Soul Forged-
Soul forged weapons are the rarest weapons in existence. These weapons are enchanted not by normal means, but by the use of sacrifice. The conditions to successfully soulforge a weapon are incredibly narrow for mistakes, backfiring heavily and turning corrupt or cursed. Proper soul forge weapons use the soul of a being as its core of power rather than mana or a lodestone. A soul forged weapon's power takes over a wide variety of effects as they are based entirely around the soul's personality, the type, the sentience, and strength. Crude soulforged weapons are often bound to animals and lesser creatures while the strongest soul-forged use the souls of extremely powerful mages. God-soul forged weapons do not exist currently and has been deemed impossible to create to even the most ambitious of forge-mages.
Soul Type Notes:
Type - Soul - Grade
Crude - Animal, Lesser Creature - 1
Refined - Base Magic Creature - 2
Honoured - Low Level Mage - 3
Sentient - Intermediate Level Mage - 4
Perfected - High Level Mage - 5
-Other Weapons-
Some weapons found, more notably stronger weapons, can be hybrids of any of the aforementioned weapon types. Arguably one of the strongest weapon types, hybrid weapons may cause a great strain on the user in turn for what they are capable of.
