Personality:
Gordon has two sides to his personality.
His first side is the one he shows the most. He is a kind and friendly gentleman. He prefers to avoid conflict, but he can and will stand up for himself when he has to. He is a shy individual, but opens up when he gets comfortable with someone, at which point he can be sassy and sarcastic when he wants to be.
Few know his second side. Whenever he is in war or otherwise in combat, his personality can be said to be solidly chaotic neutral: He'll get whatever is needed to be done to achieve his mission or objective. He is mostly unphased by the horrible atrocities of war, due to prolonged exposure numbing his nerves, and may even add morbid humor in the middle of it. He is willing to commit war crimes if he thinks he could get away with it, and if he deems it necessary. This is not a result of sociopathy, but rather his philosophical view of realism in war and combat.
Biography:
Gordon was born to a loving family. He is the eldest child, and has two younger sisters. The family is middle-class. His mother is an electrical engineer, and his father is a magical biologist, someone whose field of study is concerned with magical effects on biological systems. His sisters are attending university.
Gordon is the odd one of the family. Whereas the rest of the family focuses on academic affairs, Gordon, enlisted in the military when he became an adult. During the military, he joined a special operations regiment.
However, his military career came to an end after his last mission where he was given a kill order on an infamous war criminal. When confronted, the war criminal took a hostage and used them as a meat shield as an attempt to escape. Gordon, without hesitation, shot the war criminal through the hostage, killing them both.
This situation had a lot of coverage in the media, and the military barely was able to cover up what happened. The official story was that the war criminal started shooting hostages one by one before he was killed, with the true story classified. However, they could not risk another incident like this again. Gordon was forced to be honorably discharged from the military. He has never told anyone about what really happened.
Continuing to use the skills he learned from being in the military, he decided to become a freelance combatant. He decided to become a mercenary and a bounty hunter, ever honing his combat abilities, magic and otherwise.
