A Transformative Point Of View

Ava, the glorious queen of everything that she truly was, couldn't stand it any longer. What was that you may ask? Being stuck as nothing more than a mere companion. She could not believe some fuzzy jellybean of a child would give her such a brilliant idea to seek out a way to turn human.
Of course, this would mean she would need to learn how to human. Ugh. Why? She was clearly the superior of the two of them. Two of who? Her and Cayde. The boy was smart, and absolutely a wonderful person. After all, he helped her not die as a young babbin. But she, the most beautiful bird on the planet, the sharpest of eyes, the most graceful of dives, was the master of flight out of the two. She was quieter than his mechanical baby. Less messy too. Oh but the blessings of flight that child aspired to have like her. The idea of being able to fly alongside Cayde was part of the dream. The other part was to have that beautiful son of a bitch's kids.
Ava was pleased with herself. She had a bit of a plan the moment she was able to learn how to human if gifted that ability. But the first step was getting that ability. She soared to the temple of Life and Death. All animals felt the connections strongly of this place. Where things went when they died, where things were born.
The building was marvelous. Lush greenery heavy with flowers in full bloom, some so large that it made the stalks bend downward from the weight. The building itself was black and white, built in a way that one side seemed to share aesthetics of Life while the other shared the aesthetics for the domain of Death in mirrored fashion.
Ava glided down to the temple's entrance, hoping the Mistress of Life was here. She usually was, but sometimes she wasn't. Ava wanted to see if she could get something going sooner rather than later. She landed onto the marble steps, hobbling up the steps and walking in. It was awkward. Feet were for landing and perching and punching food. Not walking. Flight was so much more superior. She stopped and looked around. The inside of this building was much more massive than Cayde's cozy home. It didn't phase her. Instead she took a couple more steps in and let out a classic shriek that her species would use. It was loud enough to alert anyone that was here that they had a visitor.
[smear:#FFCC00]"Oh!"[/smear:#ffffff:0] A voice sounded from one of the rooms. A woman walked out, more than curvy in stature. She had pale skin, cream white hair. Her head was crowned with gold antlers, her eyes a bright magenta. She wore a dress that covered her body, but that was standard for human forms, Ava guessed. Not sure why clothes were necessary. Who didn't like feeling sunlight and fresh air all over the place? [smear:#FFCC00]"Hello there my friend! Is there something I can do for you?"[/smear:#ffffff:0]
Ava stared up at the woman. On the most instinctual level, Ava could feel the power and magic off this person. She knew who this person was. They weren't some grey old person. They were a god. This being in particular was the all-mother. Ava's head dipped down slightly while she maintained eye contact with Maisha as she let out another call.
[smear:#FFCC00]"Hmm..."[/smear:#ffffff:0] Maisha put a hand to her chin, thinking. They didn't necessarily get these kinds of requests often. And when they did, it was usually because an animal wanted in on human life or something. Ava's definitely fit in that description and the goddess didn't seem to recall any rules saying she couldn't. She figured she'd grant it as long as she never got in trouble for it. Which, she didn't. [smear:#FFCC00]"Come with me and let's see what I can do for you."[/smear:#ffffff:0]
The goddess turned and moved back towards the room that she was initially in. Ava spread her wings and flapped in after Maisha. It was faster than walking anyways. Thankfully, this room seemed to have many things in it, including a perch. That was expected of the life goddess. She was ready for literally any animal to visit. Her workstation was a large desk with many drawers. Some were open, some were closed. It was obvious these were magical items, but Ava had no idea what these were for or what they did individually or when mixed together. This was probably some really complicated magic stuff that only Maisha seemed to know and that was no one else's business.
Maisha sat down in her chair, it looked comfy. It probably was with how worn it seemed. She turned and sighed, staring at the bird and giving her a quiet examination. Ava was a perfect specimen. She was easily a solid 10. Beautiful? Check. Elegant? Check. Perfect at everything ever that she could do? Oh, absolutely mega-check! Maisha could read the bird's physique and also her ego. The bird was full of herself. But it was because she was practically spoiled for a long while. She couldn't blame Ava. The bird was perfectly healthy and in her prime, so of course she would feel as though she was on top of the world.
She held out her arm. The woman didn't need a leather glove? Cayde did, the boy's skin was too fragile for her talons. Ava hesitated for a momemnt, ducking her head a little and fanning out her wings slightly. Maisha didn't seem to back down, so she fluttered over and landed on Maisha's arm. Her talons dug into the goddess' arm as she was rebalancing herself, but she made sure to be careful to not break skin and lessening her grip so that way she didn't shred up Maisha's arm.
Maisha took a closer look at this bird. She was gentle with her touch, turning the bird's head to get a better look of her face, lifting the bird to check on her plumage and talons. Everything was healthy and good. Now... for her human form. This would take several moments for Maisha to think. [smear:#FFCC00]"Hmm..."[/smear:#ffffff:0]
She moved her arm over her desk for Ava to step onto so she could lean back and think. This bird was more than wanting to be visually appealing for the human she grew attached to. Understandable. Ava wanted kids with this person. [smear:#FFCC00]"Does he have a type?"[/smear:#ffffff:0] A silent shriek. Not really. At least as far as Ava knew. That made things harder for Maisha. It seemed like Cayde didn't really seem to live with anyone or visited too many people to strike a type as his sort of fancy.
The goddess kept eyeing the bird up and down, venturing a guess as to what form would best suit her. Time passed slowly, especially for the bird. Would she be unable to get what she wanted? She wouldn't say she deserved it but absolutely more than wanted it.
[smear:#FFCC00]"What say we try what I think would fit you best, then?[/smear:#ffffff:0] When it came to making bodies to fit personalities, Maisha wanted to say she's been pretty darned good at it! Sure, a few hundreds of thousands of years really helped with getting a good feel of what would work. [smear:#FFCC00]"Now. Don't panic. It'll feel quite strange."[/smear:#ffffff:0] Strange? It wouldn't hurt right?
Maisha straightened herself and cracked her knuckles. She stretched and popped in several places, readying herself to cast some magic. She turned away to an open spot on the floor, Ava getting the message that she should probably relocate herself there. She hopped off the desk and glided down to the open spot on the floor. She was ready. She wanted this. She needed this. The goddess reached out towards Ava, a white, wispy magic poured out from her hands and towards the bird at a speed faster than her record dives, beginning the process of her transformation.
Well, the goddess wasn't wrong. This was WEIRD. Now it's fair to say it varied from being to being, she supposed. For Ava is was a feeling she couldn't describe. Everything felt so much colder now. She felt her feathers shrink away and leave her skin bare. The feeling of her bones changing seamlessly, they felt heavier and just...different. She felt her feet were no longer the beautiful dexterous death spikes they were. Her wings felt a weird mix of heavy and light, her wingtips now altered with five points that were able to move on their own. She saw something cover over her right eye, flowy and light. Her vision changed, not as much colour but the world remained fairly vibrant. She felt her body grow in the process. Her mouth covered with flesh that she'd have to learn to use, a couple of weights on her chest.
The transformation ended, her body no longer glowing or changing. She was fully human. Sitting on her feet, body folded in a way that would mimic a bird perching and arms tucked with the help of her legs. She stared at Maisha, unable to figure out how to speak but her look was enough of a hint for the goddess.
[smear:#FFCC00]"Now. I know this will take some getting used to. So before you show off your new body to whoever that lucky person is that you like, you'll need to come here to learn and practice to hone this skill. Okay?"[/smear:#ffffff:0] She didn't have to tell Ava twice. The girl was too unsure of what to do to move, so she just stayed perched in a weird sitting position. [smear:#FFCC00]"Right. The first thing we'll need to practice is transformation. But, before I turn you back, I think it's fair you see what you look like."[/smear:#ffffff:0] Maisha turned around and rummaged through her drawers looking for something. She found what she was looking for, pulling the item out and closing the drawer. The goddess turned back around and held the mirror for Ava. The look on her face told her that Maisha did more than an excellent job, as per usual.
Ava's eyes grew wide. Her eyes were still the beautiful gold they originally were. Her newfound plumage- uh, hair, retained her dull but classy dusty brown. Her skin was lightly tanned, and from what she could see of herself with the pose she was in, she had everything good. Curvy, very thick thighs, an overall beautiful body, and whatever those chest weights were, she recalled them having some form of appeal for humans. She seemed more than pleased with herself.
[smear:#FFCC00]"Glad you like it!"[/smear:#ffffff:0] Maisha said, also very pleased with herself. Ahh, did it feel so good to do something to make someone or somecreature be happy. [smear:#FFCC00]"Now. We can't have you being a sitting duck... Or I suppose falcon!"[/smear:#ffffff:0], she said, giving herself a little laugh. [smear:#FFCC00]"Let's get you back. I'll need to make some time later to help you learn how to transform and how to be human when you are human. No need to worry about a daily visitation, you'll know when I've got some time for you."[/smear:#ffffff:0] It's almost like she's done this before several times to have answered that question. Maisha was already readying to change Ava back, which Ava actually didn't mind right now. She'd very much like to be in the form she was more comfortable in until she got that practice down like a pro. She was smart, she felt like she'd get that done in no time anyways.
Once turned back, Ava was ready to fly home and rest, feathers puffed out to show she was happy her plan to get Cayde was a step closer to fruition. She gave a happy little shriek, hobbling over to give Maisha a personal thanks, bowing her head and gently nibbling the goddess' skirt. Maisha smiled and gave the bird some scritches at the back of her head. When it was time for Ava to go and Maisha to go back to work, the bird made her way out of the room and then fluttered out of the temple, seeking a heat vent that spiraled up for her to gain altitude and fly home. Today was a good day.
Of course, this would mean she would need to learn how to human. Ugh. Why? She was clearly the superior of the two of them. Two of who? Her and Cayde.
