Most people spent their downtime reading, picking up a new skill or hobby. Quincy? He went out into the periphery and did research, which is what he was currently doing. He wanted to gather as many relics or items of power, just to keep them out of the hands of those that would use them to do harm to others or even this land. It's what he spent most, if not all of his time doing- research and investigation.
Pulling a cart through the periphery, Quincy located something he had been looking for. After questioning local towns, he learned of a battle site from a previous war. He pulled the cart into the site, looking around the torn banners and weapons of old. The cart came to a stop as Quincy removed a simple, sturdy shovel from it. He had some digging to do.
It was the sound of the metal "tunk" that got his attention after a while of digging. Using the shovel to remove the rest of the dirt, he had finally made an interesting discovery. An old, beaten up sword. At first, he thought it was a normal weapon, however the weapon had a faint aura to it. One of... malicious nature. The aura alone made Quincy back away from it and return the shovel to the cart.
From the cart, Quincy pulled two things: a large box with a crane-like arm and a large container with several locks on it. He placed the container on the ground near the sword and placed the box. With the device, Quincy lifted the sword from its resting place and gently laid it in the container. He approached the container and closed the lid, locking its several locks before picking it up. He knew nothing of this weapon, and thus, had to be careful.
With the container now in his cart, Quincy grabbed his shovel and returned to digging. If one strange item was there, perhaps there would be more. That was just something he would have to figure out for himself.

The periphery was not home to many, but in the time since migrating here from her home territory Zelina had managed to make herself quite comfortable indeed. The simple, holistic lifestyle was an easy one to maintain, safe for the most part from the bustle of city life and the jumble of people that came with it. It wasn't that she disliked socializing- quite the contrary, it just wasn't very safe.
When one possesses the ability to seer through the veil of time in either direction, it is easy to become a target of manipulation and unscrupulousness. Over the years she simply had learned it was perhaps better not to serve herself up on a platter, accessible to anyone who wanted her, learning to enjoy her own company as a result. Living alone certainly meant being responsible for everything on her own as well though, which was what brought her down from her lakeside abode today.
Unfortunately, even when blessed with the ability to divine the future, it was easy to let certain things around camp somewhat unexpectedly fall to the wayside- and as such, she needed to scavenge the area for parts that might prove useful in her repairing endeavors. Taking down the hill, Zelina made for an abandoned area that seemed promising, a quick consultation of her deck giving her the extra confidence she needed to trek in, knowing she would find what she needed here. Soon after arriving at another edge of the battlefield and giving a cursory glance around, she realizes she was not actually alone!
What a surprise! The tall blonde creature pauses for a moment, watching the device curiously move the relic from the ground into a container, covering her mouth, impressed with the machine. The jade colored crystalline structure on her forehead glistens for a moment- though she shakes off the creeping feeling that came with it. Whatever had owned that sword in the past was long gone, no where to be found to harm anyone. The pristine, white tunic dress that adorned her bodice billowed in the breeze as she padded barefoot out to the odd stranger, a serene smile beginning to paint her features as she got closer, putting up a hand to wave his way. "Hello there, friend!"

The sound of a voice caught Quincy off-guard. He turned around, hands in his coat pockets to face the source of the noise. What he saw... looked human enough, except for the strange crystal structure on her forehead. He studied the person for a moment, before responding "...Hello." in a bland tone of voice. It isn't that he wasn't interested in talking, he just didn't talk to people very often. Socializing was something he didn't do. Too much research and work to be done to socialize. That and it's socializing.
"Are you lost? You seem to be very well dressed for entering an old battle site. You're bound to get that white dress dirty." Quincy asked, pulling his good hand out of his pocket and tugging on the container, making sure it was secured. He wasn't sure why someone like her would be out here. Was she lost? Maybe this was some really strange trap, or maybe a result of the sword? He had no idea, though he had no intention on acting in a hostile manner until he knew for certain. He pulled a map out of the cart, holding it out to her, "Should help you get back to town, wherever you're from."

That serene smile remains on her face as she takes the map offering in her fingers, examining it closely for a few moments. "Well, I don't actually live in a town, or a city for that matter." Allowing her fingertips to travel over the surface of the paper, the structure in the center of her forehead glimmers momentarily-
The last few seconds of the map simply sitting in its container, unthought of and unconcerned with play in jerky adjusted speed in Zelinas eyes, unfolding like a timelapsed rose. The moment staggers at the present one, after being handed off to her, a few other branching timelines unfolding from it- most of them not too different from the most likely one, which appeared more opaquely before her; her biting her lip and passing the map back to him.
Pearly whites press into her full lower lip, her nose scrunching as she returns what she presumed had been a kind gift from this stranger. "You see, I'm hear scavenging for..." Trailing off, she seems to lose her train of thought, looking about the battlefield for a moment. "Something. Perhaps a tool of some sort?" She rubs her chin, the pristiness of her gown contrasting as starkly to her surroundings as the rest of her. "Something has broken in my camp... I need items to repair it.. If I could just remember what it was.."

"What do you mean you're not from a town or city? Do you just live alone, then? I guess that map won't help too much." He replies, watching the strange figure just stare at the map for a bit. His interest was more in the strange crystal structure in her head and what it was about and what it did. "That crystal structure in your head, what's it for? It's glowing." Quincy asked, placing his hands in his pockets as he awaited a response.
As he was handed the map back, he looked at it for a moment before returning his gaze to her, "You're scavenging for something. A tool of some sort. You don't seem to know what you're looking for." He said, placing the map back into his cart, "What was your plan if you forgot what you were even here to get? Grab whatever you could find and hope for the best? Probably not a good idea, seems this site has a lot of oddities buried."
Quincy thought for a moment, before letting out a small sigh, "I suppose if you took me to where you are staying I could see if I can fix whatever you're talking about." He suggested, running his clawed hand through his hair. He didn't know anything about them but maybe if he helped them he could ask them more questions about that crystal structure and who they were in general.

"Yes! Exactly! I live by myself, near a lake that can't be very far from here! Your help will certainly be appreciated, and if I can I'll reward you, I'm sure I have something laying around that may be of value to you~" She chimes, quietly clapping her fingertips together, that serene smile never leaving her gentile features. "I can take you there, but I would certainly appreciate if this could all be kept a secret? It's best if a large number of people do not know where I am."
While she didn't directly address his question about her crystal, there is a momentary glimmer in her eye as she considers it. Perhaps when she knew he wouldn't be a threat, she would indulge his questions further. For now, she only responds with. "It's my Eye. It helps me to see when I should and should not interact with something... That's why it was glowing." Feeling that explanation would be sufficient for now, she looks back over the rest of the old battlefield before landing on him again. "What is it that you are doing here..?" She eyes up the mechanism he had used to extract the first relic, clasping her hands behind her back. "Are you here to unbury the oddities here?"

"Hm." Quincy simply replied, giving her an odd look, "I'm only interested in magical artifacts of any kind. Otherwise, I'll just help you for the sake of helping you." He adds, his tone sounding uninterested or bland. That wasn't intentional on his part, he just was a more serious person and didn't intend to sound bored. He raised an eyebrow at her request, "If you insist. I won't tell people but I'll be updating my own maps."
"If it helps you see what you should and should not do, shouldn't you be able to fix it yourself by seeing what you should do to fix it?" Quincy asks, pulling his cart over to the strange girl, "Just a thought. I don't know how it works." He says, glancing at the battlefield, "Oh, right. I look for magical artifacts to seal up and take back to my place for study. That's really it." He wasn't weirded out by this girl, he was more curious about that crystal. Was it part of her? Was it a magical artifact? How exactly did it work? Was she born with it? All questions he would ask eventually.
