Reference Pic of Nienna
Nienna didn't know exactly how long she had been wandering. A few weeks at best, though the passing days were not something she was concerned about. Her survival was her main priority, and for someone who had lived in the lap of luxury most of her life she liked to think she was doing well for herself. All those secret camping trips did end up coming in handy after all, tutors and their words be damned. Sure, it was unbecoming of a lady in her station to do such menial tasks like hunting and foraging, but there was something soothing and exhilarating when she escaped into the great wide forests surrounding her home. Home...Nienna dreaded to think about it. It was home no longer. She was cast out, or rather, better off thought dead. The reality she found herself in was strange, one she couldn't have conjured in her worst nightmares. Part of her was kicking herself for not seeing it coming. She should have honestly, it was her fault for not having the foresight necessary. Then again, she wasn't even sure if she could have trusted her own guard. It was a blood bath when she fled her home. Her clothes still had the tell tale stains of dried blood no amount of desperate river washing could get out. Her clothes were shredded in a few odd places and sewn back together with the skill of an amateur. Her long flowing hair was tied back with a simple satin blue ribbon. She trudged through the woods which began to look the same after a while. She knew that she should be paying attention to her surroundings, but her thoughts were much more demanding of her attention. She felt her head was an inescapable prison of torment, playing those moments over and over again. While she felt she could breathe freely for the first time, the crushing weight of responsibility still hung on her shoulders, perhaps even more so after the events that had transpired. None of it really mattered now, going back home was impossible- suicide even. She felt no joy at the idea of returning home anyways. So why bother going back? There was nothing for her there now, besides a throne that awaited the rightful ruler that would never come.
She sighed to herself settling down near a stream that acted as a barrier between the woods and some open fields. She honestly had no clue where she was, even with what little jewels she had brought with her she couldn't afford a map. Another part of her was terrified to even ask, if she figured she was still within her home's territory no doubt someone would recognize her and turn her in. Perhaps it was better knowing nothing at all. She bent down and grabbed her water skin from her bag filling it up to the brim. She took a long deep sip and let out a sigh. She'd need food soon, and the fields would be a good place to catch rabbits. Though for now she was content to watch the fields roll in the breeze. A moment of reprise in the whirlwind of madness she was caught up in. However, out here in the middle of seemingly nowhere she did not expect to find company. That would be a sorry mistake for her.

Joel wanders through the forest he smiles marveling at its beauty. He looks up above and sees the sun through the trees, still a strange sight. He had set out to explore in the night believing he would be back home by morning but found he miscalculated. He was a tad hungry now but that was his own fault really. he kept his clone hood up over his head to protect from the sun. In daylight, his pale skin no longer glowed and instead appears as normal as his surroundings. His tail swayed as he waked smiles hearing a river. That would mean he's closer then he thought. He runs towards it only to slow upon seeing the girl at its edge. He wanted to speak to her but wasn't sure what to say...or if she even wanted the company causing him to simply stare instead. He smiles "she's so pretty" he thought to himself. No one in his family had any curl to their hair. Then again, no one in his family looked anything like her at all.

Nienna stiffens upon hearing a faint voice. Her eyes snap from the fields to the stranger who had been so openly staring at her. She awkwardly brushes back some of the curled strands that fell beside her face. She didn’t exactly look the cleanest, a bit of dirt and grime smudged itself onto her pale skin. She is unsure of what to do. Should she speak or opt to run away? Strangers were a dangerous thing, especially for a lone woman such as herself. Not that she couldn’t handle an assailant, she liked to think she was quite an adversary given her magical prowess. But it is best not to reveal all one’s cards straight out of the gate. She stood to her full height of 6 feet and dusted herself off. “Um, hello...“ she said cursing the way her voice cracked. It had been a few days since she had last spoken a word. It shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise really. Still someone who was trained in public speaking it felt like quite the slip up. She cleared her throat to hopefully get rid of the rough tone that lingered in it. “Do forgive me if I happened to be trespassing upon your lands sir. This place is admittedly unfamiliar to me. I do apologize if I intruded.” Hopefully he decides to leave her be...it would be just her luck if this stranger turned out to be hostile.

His face turned puzzled. This wasn't his land. He smiled back at her though. He would sort things out. He looks a bit young like he hasn't properly stepped over into manhood. He was shorter than her only standing at 5'8. He hoped to become taller, but with his diet it was unlikely. He steps forward and his mouth begins to move as if he were speaking....but nothing came out. then he pauses remembering once more that his voice was lost and speaks again. This time telepathically straight into your head. "Hi there, I'm really sorry to bother you. I think you have me confused though I don't own this land. I was actually on my way back home....though I'm still pretty far from it....and very very late. Anywaaaays. Hi I'm Joel. What's your name." he smiled very happy to meet someone new as his tail wags behind him reflecting that. Looking into his eyes he was innocent. Not a dangerous bone in his body much like a child much younger then he.

She had to admit this stranger’s appearance was beyond odd to her. Of course where she had come from the majority of citizens were elves. She was not foolish enough to think elves were the only race out there. This boy before her, however, had am appearance that was outside the realm of her history books. She felt it would be rather rude to ask what exactly he was, so she chose to hold her shock and better- her tongue. Nienna looked confused for a moment as he mouthed words but made no sound. A part of her internally panicked wondering if her hearing had somehow faded over the past few days. Though she could still hear the wind through the branches, so her fear was quickly abated. She seemed a little surprised at first upon hearing the voice in her head, though it quickly settled as her memory recalled the spell in use that she glanced upon in her studies. “Ah, I see. Thank you for clearing up my misunderstanding then Joel. My name is N- Yvanna,“ she said, swiftly and subtly correcting herself. Very few knew her middle name from her kingdom or outside. It was just easier this way, and frankly, much more safe. Taking in his demeanor, Joel hardly seemed like a threat, but looks could be deceiving and she could not risk such trickery. “Where exactly is this home of yours if you don’t mind my asking?” If he had a home then there was a village. That meant a place to grab more supplies, wash up, and maybe receive news of her kingdom. But did she really want to hear about it? She dreaded to think the stare it would be in. If it was utter chaos then she would be obligated to return, but if it was still as prosperous as ever...then that just felt like a cruel kick when she was down honestly.

"Yvanna, I like that name it's pretty. I live in Hurricane Cove. It's really pretty at night" *he pulled down his hood to make sure he didn't look too distant. He shifted side to side quite excited to meet someone new, he soon figgited with his tail to keep his hands busy, an old habit of his. With his hood down you could also so now see his pointed ears which moved with his emotions. "Do you live around here?"

“Thank you,” she responded simply. Nienna, while polite and gracious, never took compliments well. Not that the people that gave them ever knew. She just always felt they were trying to get something out of her with words of false flattery. She slings her bag that lay by the stream bank back upon her shoulder. It too seemed to reflect the somewhat desperate and sorry state of her clothes. Even with her squalid appearance she still held herself with dignity. “No I’m not from around here. Hurricane Cove is an unfamiliar name to me. I am a traveler. My home is far from here,” she said. Or it used to be... No there was no home for her to return to. She just went about aimlessly unsure of what to do, or if there was anything she could do at all. “Would it be too much trouble to ask you to take me there? Been a while since I’ve come across a town.” She could compensate him if he so wished, though she wasn’t going to offer up what few things she was able to use as bartering tools. He seemed the type to help others freely, an admirable thing but one could use that as a debt to be repaid later on.

She was trying her very best to not stare at the wagging tail. When she believed he wasn't paying attention her eyes would flick to it with mild curiosity. She really had no clue what to think of Joel, or what sort of species he was. Part of her wanted to know to satiate her curiosity and another justified such an impulse for the sake of her safety. For all, she knew this could be some sort of trickster race just waiting to let her guard down before he went on the attack. Was this a harsh judgment of character? Perhaps, though she did like to give the young boy the benefit of the doubt. "Lead the way then," she said taking another sip of her water skin. While the woods were a pleasant place to be it would be better to rest in a village for a while before heading back out on her travels to who knows where.

*he nods happily. While he had seen those like her before he didn't often encounter people and was quite curious himself....especially when he can't tell the difference between a human, an elf or a dwarf* "May I ask what your species is?" *he smiles to her hoping not to have accidentally offended her...he seems to do that to a lot of people. He walked slowly and looked back to make sure she was following hoping to walk and talk*

She nearly stopped mid-step at his question. She blinked a little before readjusting the bag on her shoulder. Nienna had to say she was a little shocked by the question, simply because he had stolen the words right out of her mouth. Well- he certainly had more gall than she did, which was admirable but it would do him no favors. She continued her stride once more before answering. "I'm an elf." Though since he clearly did not know what species she was, she would spare him the specification of what kind. That in itself was a bit of a story. "May I ask what you are?" She said raising her brow ever so slightly.

"An elf? oh I've heard of those, seen a few too. Sorry I'm so bad with species" *he smiled quite happy to have gotten his answer* "Of course you can ask, it's only fair. Besides we're not very known. I'm a dreameater...well actually my family is, I'm a nightmare eater." *He seems quite proud in his spices once he specified it. His tail had slowed again. you could actually see that the end looked to be decorated and styled to be a dream catcher. He smiles back to you just oddly happy for who knows what reason.*

"Where I'm from there are plenty of elves. No need to apologize for your lack of knowledge," she said. Too many honestly. Some could be quite...pompous about their race. It was annoying to her them drawl on about superiority. She had no time for things such as that, besides such an attitude was bad for fostering relations with other nations.
Nienna tilted her head in confusion as he said his race. She had never heard of dreamcatchers, though the name showed exactly what they did. They must subsist off of it, part of her wondered what the general attitude was towards these people. Given his friendly and chipper attitude, they must be welcome by most.
"How much farther do we have to go to reach this town of yours?"" she asked. She would hate to be wandering around when night fell. Not that it would be too much of an issue given her magical abilities but still, she would avoid it if she could.

*He his expression changes as he takes a moment to think seeming to be calculating time* "about a half a day from here I think" *he looks back to you with his normal expression* "I got really carried away when exploring. I'm sure I'll be scolded when I return" *he spoke pretty lightly about it despite talking about being reprimanded*

Her eyes flick to the sun to see what position it was in the sky. It was the best way to discern time but one could only look at it for so long. She looked away and blinked the spots out of her eyes before letting out a sigh. A whole half a day of travel, if they were lucky they'd arrive when night had fallen. Given her luck, it would be well into the hours of the dark by the time they arrived. "Ah...good to know," she said keeping the sarcasm that threatened to invade her voice at bay. It will be over in a blink of an eye, just focus on keeping an eye out and keeping herself safe. That's the best she could do in such circumstances. Besides, she didn't want anything to happen to her guide, then she'd really be lost.
