Information: As is well known, War comes in a variety of forms, far too many to be named. Some see it as a necessary evil, some enjoy it perhaps far too much. However, the Dragon Star saw it as a way for mortals to face the divine, to become the greatest version of themselves and cast off the shackles of the pantheon. Susano fought against Fenris himself over this belief, matching the God blow for blow for 46 straight hours until finally the God brought them low. For their failure, the Dragon Star recognised Fenris as their God but the God of War rewarded them for their valour, allowing them to create a great school of war to train others like themselves and greater yet, Fenris vowed to ensure that none of divine inheritance could join the school, no God or Champion would sully the Shinkoku Name.

The Shinkoku School of War's primary purpose is to bring the teachings of war and combat to as many people as possible, aiming to find the strongest and pit them against the strongest to forge the greatest warrior to grace the mortal plane. Due to this, the Shinkoku School is highly competitive and it is encouraged to have rivalries amongst other students and even teachers, seeing them not as allies but as assets and targets to overcome. To this end, the Shinkoku School has access to restricted magics only usable by members of the school and further, most of these spells are locked off until one becomes a Ranker.

Though there are hundreds of members of the Shinkoku School, all of them have a common goal in regards to the School itself; to become a Ranker. At the top of the ladder, there are 50 special members of the Shinkoku School, these are known as the Rankers, rated from Rank 50 as the weakest of the Rankers all the way down to Rank 1, the strongest member of the school and the one who must prepare to face the Divine.

Normal members of the School can only ever challenge the Rank 50 member, if the challenger wins the bout they may choose to either demote the loser, exile them or kill them, either way they take the magical jingasa that marks a Ranker and becomes Rank 50 themselves. At this point, the Rank 50 may challenge any other Ranker in order to take their jingasa and move up in the listings, although with some exceptions.

Ranks 20 to 50 fight freely amongst themselves, changing Ranks frequently. Once Rank 20 has been achieved, the Ranker is then able to challenge Ranks 2-19 and move further down the listings. Once the Rank 2 jingasa has been acquired, the Ranker is able to face the First Ranker and if successful in defeating them, take their Jingasa and ready themselves to face the Gods in a yearly series of duels.

The Jingasa are powerful magical items that become more powerful the lower the Rank of the Jingasa, usually going in blocks of 9, with the Rank 1 Jingasa being the most powerful. These Jingasa do have a number of protections however.

If a Ranker is ever slain by a non-Shinkoku School member, the Jingasa returns to the Shinkoku Tactician's School, the first dojo founded and can be claimed by any other Ranker that reaches the dojo, unless the Jingasa is of Rank 1-10, in that case there is a tournament held to choose the winner of the Jingasa, with everyone else being shifted down except Rank 50, however should Rank 50 lose a bout, they are not stripped of their hat, instead the unclaimed space goes to the winner of the bout, potentially causing them to massively overrank the 50th Ranker.

Additionally, should two Rankers fight, their Jingasa resonate and the Jingasa lose all of their magical abilities during the bout, meaning that fights between Rankers are through pure skill alone, this formal bout initiation also heals and refreshes each Ranker but they are compelled to fight until one is defeated and the Jingasa are traded or the loser is slain or exiled.

The Jingasa are coloured based on the Rank bracket and each has a large crest on the front in the shape of the Shinkoku School symbol that glows a colour based on the wearer's primary elemental affinity. They also have a large paper talisman hanging from the front of the brim with the Jingasa's Rank written onto it, if destroyed this talisman reforges itself after an hour.

Restrictions: Anyone is free to join the Shinkoku School at any point by visiting a Dojo or when making a character are free to make a Shinkoku School Member.

However, when making a character who is already part of this school, if one chooses to already be a Ranker, they cannot be any lower than Rank 35, anything from 36-50 is fair game unless the Rank has already been taken.

Lastly, when someone becomes a Ranker, they must choose a title for themselves or be granted such by another person.

Function: By kneeling on the ground and controlling their breathing, the Shinkoku School member learns how to increase the flow of and natural regeneration of mana throughout their body. This lasts until they move or cast another spell, whereupon the trance ends. Depending on the Shinkoku Member's affinity they become able to regenerate mana per round that they spend in this trance.

Function: A spell used as part of a contract between two or more individuals. When activated each member must speak out loud and confirm the conditions and laws of the duel about to take place. Upon this completing, all members are attached to a magical contract and should anyone break the laws set down, they will instantly be drained of all mana and suffer a percentage of their max health as damage dependent on the highest affinity of all members who took part in the contract.

Function: One of the first magical strikes taught to members of the Shinkoku School of War, this spell revolves around the Shinkoku focus of energy placement and redirection. By focusing their mana into the tip of their blade, the wielder becomes able to shatter barriers that they normally would be unable to harm. However this comes at a heavy mana cost and if ever used to break a barrier more than 2 affinity higher than the wielder's highest affinity, the weapon used will break immediately afterwards.

Function: The second strike taught by the Shinkoku School is about how to break through unguarded flesh. This time the focus is on spreading mana out across the length of the blade, allowing even the dullest of swords to draw blood. Dependent on the affinity of the user, upon landing a blow they are able to twist the blade and spread the mana, causing the wound to open further causing the victim to suffer an amount of bleeding damage each round until either healed or a full turn is spent applying pressure to the wound.

Function: One of the most important Shinkoku lessons is about energy, the manipulation, focusing and redirection of it. This can be applied into a lot of important uses, however this spell is one of the most important and is used as a benchmark, if the Student can master this spell then they are allowed to begin taking on Rankers. This technique involves spreading mana through a limb or weapon and then dispersing it upon striking another spell to redirect the force of that spell away and deflect the magic away from them. The amount of mana required to spend is dependent on the affinity of the spell deflected, however if the spell is ever two affinity or greater than the user's highest affinity, their weapon shatters upon deflecting the spell, if using a limb the primary bone immediately breaks rendering the limb useless.

Function: The energy dispersal techniques of the Shinkoku School do not need to only focus on the energy of mana, for kinetic energy exists and is just as dangerous at times. The Shinkoku Member learns how to enter a defensive stance and use their mana to fuel their body enabling them to block and deflect potentially dozens of strikes so long as they aren't reinforced by magic. While in this stance, normal physical blows cannot touch the user however they are also unable to move and if an attack is backed by magic, then it must either be avoided normally, taken head-on or redirected in another method. The amount of mana this consumes each round is dependent on the user's affinity.

Spell name: Flap of a Hummingbird's Wing

Function: A simple technique involving wrapping one's self in winds as they move, this technique is difficult to learn due to the careful mana and breath regulation required to achieve it perfectly. However when done, the user becomes invisible during their movement. During this movement, the distance of which is based on the user's affinity, the user is unable to perform offensive spells or attacks due to the intense concentration required to keep the winds focused, making this primarily a mobility spell due to the speed increase it imparts and allows for dodging attacks the user might not normally be able to.

Function: Releasing their weapon for a moment, the school member steps forwards and strikes the opponent with an open hand. Should this strike land, they inject a small amount of disrupting chakra and twist their hand, causing a redirection of energy within the victim's body. For a number of rounds dependent on the school member's affinity, the victim becomes unable to use mobility and movement spells as their energy is too chaotic for such controlled magics, causing them to either fail entirely or go haywire.

Function: By manifesting divisive and disrupting mana along the length of a limb or weapon, the Shinkoku school member is able to create a spiritual wound upon the target. If the victim is struck, they begin to lose mana every round, the amount of which is dependent on the user's affinity while the duration is dependent on the victim's highest affinity. This can also be stopped early through the use of an Arcane or Chaos attuned healing spell to close the spiritual wound.

Function: Not every fight takes place on the ground and those who rise in the ranks of the Shinkoku School are taught naturally how to shape their mana and energy to let them dash and flit across the sky to avoid attacks and things that would send them flying. The number of steps the member is able to take in midair before landing is dependent on their affinity after which they must touch the ground in order to recast this spell and refresh the number of steps.

Function: This spell is specifically a follow-up spell that is used after River Before the Stone. Once a spell is deflected by River Before the Stone, the user is able to redirect the energy from the spell into an energy shroud around their weapon or limb. When this is done, it lasts for a number of rounds dependent on the shinkoku member's affinity and causes the limb or weapon's damage to change to the element it has 'stolen' as well as gain a suitable status effect based on the element. If a spell is of multiple elements, only one can be taken as an energy aura.

Function: There are situations where foes may seek to remove a person's weapon or even their ability to use their limbs from a fight and for a School of war, such outcomes are unacceptable. Through the refinement of their energy redirection and the flow of their mana, the Shinkoku school member becomes able to harden and fortify one of their limbs or a weapon they are wielding, allowing it to negate the next effect that would cause the limb or weapon to break or shatter which immediately causes this spell to end.

Spell name: Tranquil Waters Herald the Storm

Function: The mind is a powerful weapon and also one that must be sharpened and ready to face anything. Through the use of this spell, the wielder redirects their energy and mana into a form of spiritual barrier around the mind. While this spell is active, the next spell that would cause fear, mind control, confusion or hysteria on the user is negated and the barrier is dispelled, requiring it to be recast.

Function: To cast away the chaff and face the true threats, the Shinkoku Ranker learns how to carve away the weakest foes around them. Charging their limb or weapon with mana, the Shinkoku member unleashes a massive circular swing that is designed to resonate with and massively amplify the energy of someone with less control than the Shinkoku Ranker. Based on the Shinkoku member's affinity, the number of people they can hit at once is determined and based on how many points lower or higher the victim's highest affinity is to the Shinkoku members will determine the damage multiplier for this strike. This spell can only be cast once per topic.

Function: As the Shinkoku Ranker reaches this point, their natural combat ability and near perfect flow of energy results in them gaining the ability to manifest a dangerous aura that scares away weaker foes. When this spell is cast, anyone within a number of feet determined by the user's Affinity becomes touched by the aura of malice the Shinkoku member radiates. If the victim's highest affinity is lower than the user's then all of their spells count as two affinity lower for the purposes of dealing damage to the Shinkoku Ranker but nothing more. If their Affinities are equal then nothing happens and if the victim's is actually higher than the Shinkoku Ranker's, they gain a 1.5x damage bonus against the Ranker.

Spell name: Shinkoku Hidden Art: First Light of Dawn

Function: Death comes quickly for those unprepared and sometimes in a way that cannot even be seen. The Shinkoku Ranker charges their entire body with mana and unleashes it in a singular massive burst, causing them to flash forwards at speeds impossible to register with the naked eye. The distance the Ranker travels is dependent on their Affinity though this is a max distance and does not need to be fully traveled. During this dash, they are invisible to normal senses and some form of magical sensory is required to notice them during this dash. During it the user is able to lash out with a single attack during the dash to one target within range of the movement, at any body location.

The energy unleashed is enough to shatter through any barrier and is capable of cleaving a mountain in half if not blocked or deflected in some manner. This strike travels two hundred feet when utilised however if someone is struck by the actual blade when this is used, they take triple damage due to the intense amount of force and energy sent through the weapon or limb.
